I turned off my Nextcloud some time ago. I plan my work in a paper notebook, and use an old fashioned paper calendar. My address book is just locally on my devices (of course backed up). I don't use email on my phone so that works out surprisingly well.
I use Syncthing for syncing a few files between my phone and laptop, which doesn't require a server. The only thing still running on my server is a pump.io instance. I'm afraid when my server dies (it's a pretty old computer) I won't be replacing it.
I guess I'm getting old and going Luddite :-)
