After reading The Communist Manifesto, all I can say is that 80% of what Marx says about the bourgeois paints them in a rather favorable light, in this document.

Reduced the sanctity of monarchy and the absolute power of religion? Check. Reduced feudalist powers into mere customers, patrons, and investors? Check. Drove technological innovation to a point that eclipsed all prior development of the Pre-industrial Era? Checkitty check check!

Of course, he's painting a bigger picture here.

@deadsuperhero did you expect him to curse them? he was a scholar, after all, not a propagandist or a fanatic โ€” and he could clearly see that was a more 'progressive' social class than feudals, and there were many a good people among them, loaded as they were with prejudices that came with their upbringing. The problem with bourgeoisie, in 's opinion (at least how I understand it), was that the was better and even more progressive.

@Melezh Having never read Marx before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Some bits were insightful, a few parts were actually funny, and other passages left me shaking my head in disagreement.
